Brief History:
Roissy Airport was originally called Paris North Airport which started its construction around 1966. The airport changed its name to Charles de Gaulle Airport when it began its operation in 1974. The avant-garde design of Terminal 1 was created by renowned French architect Paul Andreu who also did the extensions of the airport a few decades later.

Events, Landmarks, Activities:
Because of their strategic location, the Paris Airports have easy access to some of Paris' major annual events including the Paris Jazz Festival in May, French Open Tennis Championship in June, Le Grand Tour de France in July and the Fete du Beaujolais Gourmand in November. Some of the main attractions in Paris are also within easy reach such as iconic Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysees, Royal Palace, Palais Garnier and Moulin Rouge.

There is a Roissybus in terminals 1 and 2 that travels frequently all over Paris and making a final stop at Palais Garner. If you are planning to go to Disneyland, you can catch a shuttle service found in all terminals. The RER B and TGV trains reach the suburban areas.
