Costa Brava
Location, Climate:
Costa Brava is an all-year round holiday destination in Spain. It spans from the town of Blanes to the French border. The climate of Costa Brava is Mediterranean with long, hot summers and short, mild winters. Book a discount hotel between June and September if you want to enjoy the beach. There are more discount hotels available between December and February when the tourist season is over.

Brief History:
The development of Costa Brava to become a tourist destination started in the 1950s as local entrepreneurs and the Spanish government build several commercial establishments in the area aimed to attract tourists from Northern Europe. From fishing, the main source of income of most locals in Costa Brava is based on tourism.

Events, Landmarks, Activities:
Before summer ends in September, the weather starts to become pleasantly cooler and many interesting festivals are held including the Shepherd's Festival, Sheepdog Contest, Vintage Car Caravan, The Pedal Festival, Dance of the Pabordes, Dance of the Giants and the Candle Dance. Costa Brava consists of little towns and fishing ports including Cadaques, which was the birthplace of famous artist Salvador Dali. There are beautiful parks located at L'Emporda such as the Natural Park of Cap de Creus and Natural Park of Aiguamolls. Also take the time to visit the lush gardens in Lloret de Mar and Blanes.

The most convenient way of getting around Costa Brava is by driving a car. Others prefer renting a scooter or a bike in Cadaques. The bus connects many of the beaches. Riding a speedboat or a yacht is an exciting way to travel.
